Deciding Which Type of Nanny is Right For You

There are different types of nannies. Examples include, retired teachers, baby nurses, night nannies, housekeeper nannies, and babysitters. Be sure to take time to decide prior to your search which type of service will be the best fit for you and your family.

Consider a family who has a newborn and is looking for someone to assist with their care until the baby starts school, then a more experienced nanny that can give a longer commitment of 3-5 years would be a better fit. If the family has school-aged children, nannies with teaching degrees or who are in college studying to be a teacher are always a great fit, especially if the child or children need tutoring. For families that have, for instance, an infant and toddler, it would be prudent to hire someone that is agile and versatile. Someone will have the energy to keep up with the children and commit long term.

Evaluating your options and making the right choice from the start will make the decision-making process less stressful. Let us help you get it right the first time. It’s always hardest on the children when they don’t have the right nanny or babysitter.
